by Denise Duong
During this year's Renaissance Ball Late Night after-party, we debuted limited edition custom-designed wine glasses, created by local artist Denise Duong. Wine glasses were available for purchase on-site during the Late Night event and are now available in the Museum Store.
The artist's designs were inspired by Auguste Rodin's "Gates of Hell," featured in the Museum's special exhibition, True Nature: Rodin and the Age of Impressionism. Duong noted Dante's observation of the figures in the Inferno, contemplating the destruction of mankind. Also seen in her designs are inspirations from Rodin's well-known hand sculptures.
Denise Duong is a Vietnamese-American Artist from Oklahoma City who is drawn toward the beauty of nature to escape the "inferno." That painted escape is influenced by Duong's travels and passions.
