Signed by Chihuly and numbered. Prints with handwork are created by drawing with paint onto existing prints after they are pulled from the press.
The origins ofย Autumn Basketย date back to 1977 when Chihuly, inspired by a museum collection of aging and collapsing woven fiber baskets, began developing hisย Basketย series in glass. The singleย Basketย form, positioned slightly off center and defined by iridescent yellow, takes center stage against a metallic tangerine background speckled with daubs of cherry-red. Pearlized dots of green dapple the interior of the form, harmonizing with the teal-green lip wrap.
